Use this website when you decided to purchase the “Sure Cuts A lot 2.0” software. Click on her logo to take you to her website.  Michelle has so much info on her website and will be there to answer any questions you may have about SCAL.  Also, when you purchase through her website you get a free subscription to her “Theme” sets. 

Inkscape is a popular software program and one feature is called "Trace Bitmap." This feature lets you auto-trace images and save the tracing as a file that you can import into Sure Cuts A Lot 2.0 to cut on your Cricut. I recommend it even if you own Sure Cuts A Lot 2.0 but you do not need it. Click on the Logo above to download the free software.  Choose Windows—Installer, then follow instructions.

HOW TO CONVERT IMAGE TO SVG FILE

Open Inkscape

Select  “File”

Select  “Import”, choose your file

Select “ Path”

Select  “Trace Bitmap”

Select  “Update”

Select  “OK”

Close Window

Move Black Image from first Image

Delete First Image

Select “File”

Select “Save As”

Open “Sure Cuts A lot”

Select  “File”

Select  “Import SVG”

I purchased my Cricut in January, so I am learning a lot by trial and error.  I wanted to share the info I have found with all that ask.

The Cricut Create Personal Electronic Cutter combines the portability of the original Cricut® machine with the functionality of the Cricut Expression® machine. The Cricut Create machine is the same size as the original Cricut machine, yet it allows cuts from 0.25" up to 11.5" on a 6" x 12" cutting mat. The machine also includes an eight-way directional blade, Portrait mode (to cut taller images), Fit to Page mode (to cut the largest cut possible), Auto Fill mode (to mass produce cuts), Center Point function, and Flip function. An improved display screen and sleek design add greater style and convenience.

The Cricut Expression is a much larger unit than the Cricut Create Cutter, meant to stay on a work table or in a media room. The good thing is that all Cricut® models use the same cartridges and the same blade housings and blades.

The Cricut Expression® is a way to cut letters, shapes, and phrases in impressive sizes using the 12" x 24" mat or the 12" x 12" mat. The possibilities are endless with this larger machine, allowing you to create bigger die cuts for classroom decor, scrapbook layouts, signage, and so much more.

The Cricut cartridges can be quite expensive that is why I purchased the “Sure Cuts A Lot 2.0” software.  The software uses all of the fonts that are on your computer. You can also download free fonts from ScrappingTable.com and the internet.  Click on the “ScrappingTable.com” link and view Michelle’s video “Goodbye Expensive Cartridges” video.  I am sure that you will be impressed, just like I was.

This is the website that I use to purchase my Vinyl & transfer tape. He has 45 different colors of Cricut Vinyl.  They come in 6”x12” or 12”x12” sizes. He carries the Paper & Clear transfer tape which come in different widths. Make sure you check out his website.  He has a variety of different vinyl.  Example: Caulk board, mirror and static cling to name a few.  I have found them to be the best price and they ship very promptly.
